VIBRATION DAMPING The Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is the new star of the show – more adjustable and durable than ever. Regardless of your saddle position, every rider can take advantage of 20mm of travel, friction-free, between the handlebar stem and the steerer tube. Your hands stay planted on the bar, giving you a smoother ride with greater control so you can go faster, safer and with more confidence. The lowered-clamp design exposes more of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost 'controls' this movement for optimal vibration absorption in the vertical plane. Together, these two things create the 'AfterShock' technology, and combined with Roubaix's rigid rear end, you get a smooth ride without sacrificing efficiency. The Roubaix SL8 is the most comfortable road bike ever tested by our Ride Science Team – it reduces handlebar impact by 53% compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge, the wheel glides over obstacles while you stay stable and hold your line on rough pavement. Normally, a fork flexes backward on impact, causing you to lose speed. It's science – more comfortable means faster. CAPABILITY Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feeling of riding 'inside' the bike, not 'on' the bike. This way, pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms decreases, giving you capability and confidence on any road. With tire clearance up to 38c/40mm, this endurance road bike delivers exceptional traction on rough roads or gravel. Thanks to lightweight, efficient Specialized tires, this larger volume comes with no downsides. Roubaix makes you want to spend long days in the saddle, so we've equipped it with everything you might need for your bike adventures – three bottle cage mounts, top tube bag mount and fender provisions. Drawing on Project Aethos – the lightest production road bike ever – we've created a new frame that weighs just 825 grams in FACT 12r carbon and is 50 grams lighter than the previous generation.
