Description
The S-Works Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike in the world, thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, light weight and ride quality previously thought impossible. That's why, when the best Formula 1 team set its sights on cycling, they called Specialized, the leader in innovation and technology in this sport. The S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD: the RedBull – BORA Hansgrohe Edition is your chance to ride an exact replica of the bike the new team will race at the 2024 Tour de France. The Fastest Bike on Any Road, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD, comes built with Roval Rapide CLX II Team wheels, Roval Rapide Cockpit, the new SRAM RED AXS groupset, S-Works Power Mirror saddle and lightning-fast Turbo Cotton race tyres. Only 500 individually numbered units will be produced, and they'll go faster than Primoz chasing victory at the Tour. Hurry up! AERODYNAMICS: We use aerodynamics where it matters most, and in the process we've created our fastest road bike ever — yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. The front end has been optimised for maximum advantage. The fork steerer is positioned further back relative to the front of the head tube to deliver significantly lower aerodynamic drag. Thanks to new UCI regulations, on the SL8 we were able to use the narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost we've ever made, ensuring that turbulent air around the leg area can flow more easily towards the rear of the bike. WEIGHT: To build the Tarmac SL8 as the most aerodynamic bike possible while still meeting UCI minimum weight requirements, we drew on everything we learned from the Aethos. The team produced a 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike in the World Tour*. By focusing on maximum weight savings in the down tube, seat tube and rear end of the bike, we applied the lessons learned during the Aethos project. The frame shapes respond to stress so efficiently that it was possible to reduce material thickness, cutting out everything unnecessary. *Except for that time Kasper Asgreen raced our 585-gram Aethos frame during a Tour stage. RIDE QUALITY: The stiffness-to-weight ratio of the Tarmac SL8 is 33% better than the SL7. The Tarmac SL8 sets a new benchmark for handling: precise in the most demanding situations and immediately responsive to every pedal input. While the areas responsible for power transfer and handling precision are stiffer than ever, in the saddle the Tarmac SL8 is more comfortable, filtering 6% more road buzz and letting you attack corners with a feeling of agility and balance unique in the world of road racing. The new Tarmac SL8 keeps the proven geometry of the SL7 model, with the same generous 32 mm tyre clearance, so you can run a higher-volume tyre whenever you need it. The S-Works Tarmac LTD, Red-Bull Bora-Hansgrohe Edition comes with SRAM Red AXS drivetrain, the lightest electronic groupset in the world, complete with power meter, tubeless ready Roval Rapide CLX II Team wheels and Roval Rapide Cockpit.
