VIBRATION DAMPING The Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is the new star in the lineup, more adjustable and durable. Regardless of your saddle position, every rider can harness 20mm of travel, friction-free, between the handlebar stem and steerer tube. Your hands on the bars stay steady, ensuring smoother handling with greater control so you can go faster, safer and with more confidence. The lowered-clamp design exposes more of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost 'controls' this movement for optimal vibration damping in the vertical plane. These two things together form the 'AfterShock' technology, and combined with Roubaix's rigid rear triangle, they create a smooth ride without compromising efficiency. The Roubaix SL8 is the most comfortable road bike ever tested by our Ride Science Team – it reduces handlebar impact by 53% compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge, the wheel glides over obstacles while you stay stable and maintain your line on rough pavement. Normally, the fork compresses backward on impact, causing you to lose speed. It's science – more comfortable means faster. CAPABILITY Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feeling of pedaling 'inside' the bike, not 'on' the bike. This reduces pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms, giving you confidence and control on any road. With tire clearance up to 38c/40mm this endurance road bike delivers exceptional traction on broken pavement or gravel.
