VIBRATION DAMPING The Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is the new star, more adjustable and durable. Regardless of your position in the saddle, every rider can take advantage of 20mm of travel, friction-free, between the handlebar stem and the steerer tube. Your hands on the bar stay planted, ensuring smoother handling with greater control to keep you faster, safer and more confident. The lowered clamp design exposes more of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost 'controls' this movement for optimal vibration damping in the vertical plane. These two things together form the 'AfterShock' technology, and combined with Roubaix's rigid rear triangle, create smooth riding without compromising efficiency. The Roubaix SL8 is the most comfortable road bike ever tested by our Ride Science Team – it reduces handlebar impact by 53% compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge the wheel glides over obstacles while you stay stable and hold your line on rough terrain. Normally, the fork flexes backward on impact, causing a loss of speed. It's science – more comfortable means faster. CAPABILITY Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feel of riding 'inside' the bike, not 'on' the bike. So pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms decreases, giving you confidence and control on any road. With tire clearance up to 38c/40mm this endurance road bike delivers exceptional traction on rough roads or gravel. Thanks to lightweight and efficient Specialized tires, this larger volume comes without drawbacks. Roubaix makes you want to spend long days in the saddle, so we equipped it with everything you might need for bike adventures – three bottle cage mounts, top tube bag mount and provisions for fenders. All that's left is to go! PERFORMANCE The new Roubaix SL8 is the most aerodynamic in its category, with new tube profiles generated from our Free Foil library and lowered rear stays. Drawing from the Aethos project – the lightest production road bike – we created the new frame weighing just 825 grammi, in FACT 12r carbon and 50 grammi lighter than before. No other bike in this category is faster or lighter than the new Roubaix.
