Gears and Brakes The Shimano 105 Di2 electronic groupset is easy to maintain, the hydraulic disc brakes are powerful and the DT R470 Disc wheels are extremely durable; a tireless workhorse for every ride. Frame and Design The Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect combination of ride quality, lightness and style – so you can accelerate even on steep climbs, descend the most technical descents and stay comfortable during those long Sunday rides. But you might be wondering, how did we do it? We re-invented the traditional road bike shape of the past, tweaking it slightly to optimise stiffness and balance, without compromising weight or durability. The Aethos is more than a new bike, it's the beginning of a new generation. Ride Quality An ultralight frame means nothing if the ride characteristics don't inspire confidence. That's why for the Aethos we looked for the perfect mix of front and rear stiffness in relation to ride quality. By studying the flex and every minute detail of the carbon fibres, we discovered a lot about how forces travel through the frame. It'll only take a few pedal strokes to realise that the Aethos sets a new standard in riding. Details and finishing Every detail, from the derailleur hanger to the stem expander, has been designed with style, weight and durability in mind. We also added the new carbon Alpinist seatpost to shave extra weight and optimise ride characteristics – all in pursuit of the perfect ride.
