The new S5 features deeper frame sections to maximize the shapes allowed by the UCI, a new fork design that helps simplify the entire front end, and increased clearance between wheel and tire to accommodate the new Reserve 52/63 wheelset, which we co-developed to deliver an even faster bike. In total, we've reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the contact patch, while at the same time reducing the bike's weight. It's simpler, faster, and easier to live with than ever. V as in Vitesse: In the pursuit of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find the most aggressive one. The S5's iconic V stem not only inspires confidence at high speeds, but it's now extraordinarily easy to adjust to find your perfect position. All necessary spacers are supplied with the bike and there's now just one bolt length, which reduces complexity and shaves 53 grams off the system. The UCI's new aerodynamic design rules have allowed us to deepen our aerodynamic profiles and squeeze a bit more performance out of what's already the fastest aerodynamic bike on the market. You'll notice a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, plus a more aggressive shape on the outer edges of the tubes. Because the new S5 is compatible only with electronic shifting, we've been able to tweak the derailleur hanger a bit and update the bike's shape. We've improved handlebar comfort and modified its shape for a perfectly flat transition between the top and the shifter. Instead of the spacers from the previous S5 handlebar, we've used a two-bolt interface that allows infinite reach adjustment between 0 and 5 degrees.
