Road Bike Specialized S-Works Aethos Sram 2021 The S-Works Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect combination of ride quality, lightness and style – so you can accelerate even on steep climbs, tackle the most technical descents and stay comfortable during long Sunday rides. But you're probably wondering how we pulled it off? We reinvented the traditional road bike shape of the past, tweaking it slightly to optimize stiffness and balance, without compromising weight or durability. With an all-new lay-up, refined over decades, you get the lightest frame on the market (585 grams for the S-Works 56 size). The Aethos is more than just a new bike, it's the beginning of a new generation. A super-light frame means nothing if the ride characteristics don't inspire confidence. That's why for the Aethos we searched for the perfect mix of front and rear stiffness relative to ride quality. By studying the flexibility and every detail of the carbon fiber, we discovered a lot about how forces travel through the frame. After just a few pedal strokes you'll realize that the Aethos sets a new standard for ride feel. Every detail, from the derailleur support to the expander on the stem, was designed with style, weight and durability in mind. We also spec'd wheels and the new Alpinist carbon fiber seatpost to shave more weight and optimize ride characteristics – all for the ultimate in rideability.
