Description
Specialized Tarmac SL8 Frame 2023 No bike is as fast as the Tarmac SL8, thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, lightweight and ride quality previously thought impossible. After eight generations and over two decades of development, it's not just the fastest Tarmac ever — it's the fastest race bike in the world. Are your legs ready? Aerodynamics or lightweight alone don't win races: what matters is speed. To achieve that speed you need to create an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightweight, stiffness and vibration absorption. Through complex simulations using real-world data, our Ride Science Team verified that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike on any course: – 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km of flat road, 128 seconds faster on the Milano-Sanremo course, 20 seconds faster on the Tourmalet climb. AERODYNAMICS: We use aerodynamics where it matters most, and in the process we've created our fastest road bike ever — yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. The front end has been optimised for maximum advantage. The fork steerer is positioned further back relative to the front of the frame's head tube to deliver significantly lower aerodynamic drag. Thanks to the new UCI rules, on the SL8 we were able to use the narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost we've ever made, ensuring that turbulent air in the leg zone can flow more easily toward the rear of the bike. LIGHTWEIGHT: To create the Tarmac SL8 and build the most aerodynamic bike while meeting the UCI minimum weight requirements, we drew on everything we learned with the Aethos. The team produced a 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike in the World Tour*. By focusing on maximum weight savings in the down tube, seat tube and rear end of the bike, we applied the lessons learned during the Aethos project. The frame shapes respond to stress so efficiently that it was possible to reduce material thickness, cutting out everything unnecessary. *Except for that one time Kasper Asgreen raced our 585-gram Aethos frame during a Tour stage. RIDE QUALITY: The Tarmac SL8's stiffness-to-weight ratio is 33% better than the SL7's. The Tarmac SL8 sets a new benchmark for handling: it's precise in the most demanding situations and responds immediately and efficiently to pedalling inputs. While the areas that ensure power transfer and handling precision are stiffer than ever, in the saddle the Tarmac SL8 is more comfortable, filtering 6% more road vibrations and letting you attack corners with an agility and balance that's unique in the world of race bikes. The new Tarmac SL8 keeps the proven geometry of the SL7, with the same generous clearance for 32 mm tyres, so you can run a higher-volume tyre whenever you need it. BEYOND GENDER DIFFERENCES: In reality there can be far greater differences between two male cyclists than between a man and a woman. We design for the individual and our philosophy is simple: Don't create differences where there aren't any. Every cyclist, male or female, can take advantage of what the Tarmac SL8 has to offer. It's time to move beyond. The Tarmac SL8 frame, with a threaded 68mm bottom bracket, is the perfect starting point to build the bike of your dreams. The Specialized Tarmac SL8 Frame 2023 is available in the following sizes: 49, 52, 54, 56, 58, 61 Milkywayshop.it is the online store of the long-established brick-and-mortar shop in Sassuolo (MO), Nuova Corti Shop S.R.L We're located at Viale Palestro 19, Sassuolo, province of Modena.
