REFERENCE FRAME To achieve maximum speed through perfect power transfer efficiency and ultra-precise handling, our engineering team has set the new standard in terms of torsional rigidity and bottom bracket stiffness. The double diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized's history, and supports the rigidity objective by integrating the shock as a structural element. FAST SUSPENSION The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team developed revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and responsiveness of a hardtail, plus the control and capability of a full suspension. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) shock with independently adjustable positive and negative air springs delivers the coveted hardtail "snap" to the Epic WC, combined with a lightness that eats up the terrain and gives you the ability to dial in your setup for a specific trail or your personal preferences. BEYOND ITS CLASS The Epic World Cup's 75 mm of travel behaves like much more. When the bike is ridden in firm mode, it delivers the same positive travel as a 100 mm travel bike set up with 25% sag. Optimizing air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to handle hits like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce bumper provides solid end-stroke support to handle the most violent impacts. BRAIN While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock delivers the perfect mix of absorption and firmness on the rear triangle, up front the BRAIN is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no need for lockout or levers to operate. LIGHTNESS With a frame of just 1765 grams (painted, with shock and hardware), the Epic World Cup is the lightest on the market. This lightness translates to explosive acceleration, efficient climbing, and surprising maneuverability. The sum of these characteristics is speed. We managed to design a frame this light and rigid at the same time thanks to what we learned in the Aethos design, particularly regarding carbon layup. SEATPOST The Epic World Cup comes equipped with the new Roval Control SL seatpost, ultralight and rigid. The new Epic World Cup with Ride Dynamics Developed Suspension Technology has 75mm of rear wheel travel. Thanks to the new technology, pedaling is very efficient and this Epic is ready for the most demanding descents. The SRAM XO drivetrain is high-performing and robust, perfect for the brutal XC race courses. SID SL fork with Brain, 110mm travel Roval Control wheels in carbon with hookless design and 29mm internal width. They're durable, lightweight and deliver perfect ride quality.
