Description
The Chisel is the lightest dual-suspension alloy bike in the world. It's 18.4% lighter than similar models in its category, and thanks to the kinematics and geometry of its bigger brother Epic 8, the Chisel delivers outstanding performance on every ride. SPEED METAL: Thanks to D'Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel boasts the lightest XC aluminum frame in its class. Every frame tube is highly manipulated with varying wall thicknesses and profiles that deliver stiffness where it counts—for efficiency, vibration absorption, comfort, and optimal control. CAPABILITY: With 110mm-travel suspension dialed in by Ride Dynamics, the Chisel's performance pedigree traces straight back to Epic 8, our World Cup race machine. The advanced suspension kinematics DNA of the Epic 8, Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension, and progressive geometry refined on World Cup technical terrain—you'll find it all in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling varied terrain with confidence and speed. EFFICIENCY: The Chisel is the most efficient bike in its category, thanks to geometry and kinematics developed for the Epic 8. The advanced seat tube positions you in an optimal pedaling position. Optimized anti-squat reduces pedal-bob. Put it all together and you'll see how the Chisel translates every watt at your pedals into maximum forward movement. SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We engineered the Flex Stay stays so suspension sits at the top of its class while eliminating the extra weight and maintenance of the pivot points used in traditional designs. Thorough field and lab testing proved the Chisel pulled off the impossible: the efficiency, control, and lightweight design of Flex Stay—common on carbon bikes—with advanced alloy. HYDROFORMED SEAT TUBE: The one-piece hydroformed seat tube includes the headset bearings and bottom bracket shell, versus a traditional alloy bike where the two are welded together. So the Chisel shaves additional material and weight.
