The S-Works Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect combination of ride quality, lightness and style – so you can accelerate on even the steepest climbs, descend the most technical descents and stay comfortable during long Sunday rides. But you might wonder, how did we do it? We re-invented the traditional race bike shape of the past, tweaking it slightly to optimize stiffness and balance, without compromising weight or durability. With a completely new lay-up, refined over many decades, the result is the lightest frame on the market (585 grams for the S-Works frame in size 56). The Aethos is more than a new bike, it's the beginning of a new generation. An ultra-light frame is worthless if the ride characteristics don't inspire confidence. That's why for the Aethos we sought the perfect mix of front and rear stiffness in relation to ride quality. By studying the flex and every minute detail of the carbon fibers, we discovered a great deal about how forces travel through the frame. It'll only take a few pedal strokes to realize that the Aethos sets a new standard in riding. Every detail, from the derailleur hanger to the stem expander, has been designed with style, weight and durability in mind. We've also included the Alpinist carbon seatpost to shave further weight and optimize ride characteristics – all in pursuit of the perfect ride.
