REFERENCE FRAME To achieve maximum speed through perfect efficiency in power transfer and ultra-precise handling, our engineering team has set the new standard in terms of torsional stiffness and bottom bracket performance. The double-diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized's history, and supports the stiffness objective by integrating the shock absorber as a structural element. FAST SUSPENSION The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team developed revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and responsiveness of a hardtail, plus the control and capability of a full suspension. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID shock (World Cup Integrated Design) with independently adjustable positive and negative air springs delivers the coveted "snap" of hardtails to the Epic WC, combined with a lightness that devours terrain and gives you the ability to tune your setup for a specific trail or your personal preferences. BEYOND ITS CATEGORY The Epic World Cup's 75 mm of travel behaves as if it were much more. When you ride the bike in firm mode, it offers the same positive travel as a 100 mm travel bike set up with a 25% sag. Optimization of air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to handle impacts like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce bumper provides robust end-stroke support to manage the most violent impacts. BRAIN While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock delivers the perfect mix of absorption and firmness on the rear end, up front the BRAIN is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no need for lockout or levers to operate. LIGHTNESS With a frame of just 1765 grams (painted, with shock and hardware), the Epic World Cup is the lightest on the market. This lightness translates to explosive acceleration, climbs with maximum efficiency, and surprising maneuverability. The sum of these characteristics is speed. We managed to design a frame this light while staying rigid thanks to what we learned in the Aethos design, particularly regarding carbon layup. SEATPOST The Epic World Cup comes with the new Roval Control SL seatpost, ultra-lightweight and rigid. The new Epic World Cup with Ride Dynamics Developed Suspension Technology has 75mm of rear wheel travel. Thanks to the new technology, pedaling is very efficient and this Epic is ready for the most demanding descents. The SRAM XO drivetrain is performance-oriented and robust, perfect for the brutal XC race trails. SID SL fork with Brain, 110mm travel Roval Control wheels in carbon with hookless design and 29mm internal width. They're durable, lightweight and offer perfect ride quality.
