FRAME OF REFERENCE To achieve maximum speed through perfect power transfer efficiency and ultra-precise handling, our engineering team has set a new standard in terms of torsional rigidity and bottom bracket stiffness. The double diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized history, and supports the rigidity objective by integrating the shock absorber as a structural element. FAST SUSPENSION The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team developed revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and responsiveness of a hardtail, plus the control and capability of a full suspension. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) shock with positive and negative air springs that are independently adjustable, gives the Epic WC the coveted hardtail "snap," combined with a lightness that devours terrain and gives you the ability to dial in your setup based on a specific trail or your personal preferences. BEYOND ITS CATEGORY The 75 mm of travel on the Epic World Cup behaves like much more. When you ride the bike in firm mode, it delivers the same positive travel as a bike with 100 mm of travel set up with a 25% sag. Optimization of air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to handle impacts like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce bumper provides robust end-stroke support to manage the most violent impacts. BRAIN While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock delivers the perfect mix of absorption and firmness on the rear end, the BRAIN is alive and well in the fork, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no need for lockout or levers to engage. LIGHTNESS With a frame of just 1765 grams (painted, with shock and hardware), the Epic World Cup is the lightest on the market. This lightness translates to explosive accelerations, climbs with maximum efficiency, and surprising maneuverability. The sum of these characteristics is speed. We managed to design a frame this light and at the same time rigid thanks to what we learned in the Aethos design, particularly regarding carbon lay-up. SEATPOST The Epic World Cup comes equipped with the new Roval Control SL seatpost, ultralight and rigid. The new Epic World Cup with Ride Dynamics Developed Suspension Technology features 75mm of rear wheel travel. Thanks to the new technology, pedaling is very efficient and this Epic is ready for the most demanding descents. The SRAM XO drivetrain is high-performing and robust, perfect for the brutal XC race terrain. SID SL fork with Brain, 110mm travel Roval Control wheels in carbon with hookless design and 29mm internal width. They're durable, light, and offer perfect ride quality.
