Description
In developing the Dissident II we worked with athletes Loïc Bruni and Finn Iles, to design a helmet that would meet the demands of the downhill racing circuit. With five EPS inserts we were able to differentiate the density of the expanded foam depending on its position within the helmet — allowing us to create a lightweight helmet while at the same time managing the energy of any impacts in the best possible way. The softer foam absorbs more energy on impact. The Dissident II also features the MIPS Evolve Solution system — which helps redirect the rotational movement of impacts. For the Evolve Solution we used fabric to secure the internal pockets, eliminating any noise. Freshness isn't just a mental thing — it's hard to focus when it's really hot, especially when your head feels like it's stuck in a sauna. So we worked on improving the ventilation system to let in a greater amount of air, with strategic outlets to expel warm air, keeping the rider's head cool and comfortable in any situation. Especially in a race context, it's really important that the helmet is cool, lightweight and low-profile, because it reduces rider fatigue and improves reactivity. The insert construction delivers that lightweight feel without compromising protection. We don't know what was going through Finn Iles' head on his winning run at Mont-Sainte-Anne, but we do know he didn't have to worry about his helmet. The Dissident II is the perfect choice, whether you're racing in the World Cup or at your local Enduro race.
