The Chisel is the world's lightest full-suspension alloy bike. It is 18.4% lighter than similar models in the category, and thanks to the kinematics and geometry borrowed from its big sister the Epic 8, the Chisel delivers outstanding performance on every ride. SPEED METAL: Thanks to D'Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel boasts the lightest XC aluminum frame in its category. Every frame tube is highly manipulated and features differentiated wall thicknesses and profiles that provide stiffness where needed, for efficiency, vibration absorption, comfort, and optimal control. CAPABILITY: With Ride Dynamics-tuned 110mm travel suspension, the Chisel's performance pedigree can be traced directly back to the Epic 8, our World Cup race machine. The advanced suspension kinematics DNA of the Epic 8, the Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension, and the progressive geometry refined on World Cup technical courses can all be found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling diverse terrain with confidence and speed. EFFICIENCY: The Chisel is the most efficient bike in its category, thanks to the use of geometry and kinematics developed for the Epic 8. The advanced seat tube positions the rider in an optimal pedaling position. The optimized anti-squat reduces pedal-bob. Put it all together and you'll understand how the Chisel translates every watt on the pedals into maximum forward movement. SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We designed the Flex Stay chainstays so that the suspension would be at the top of the category, while eliminating the extra weight and maintenance of the pivots used in traditional designs. Extensive field and lab testing have shown that the Chisel has achieved the impossible: the efficiency, control, and lightness of the Flex Stay design — common on carbon bikes — with an advanced alloy. HYDROFORMED ALLOY: The one-piece hydroformed seat tube includes the bearing seat and the bottom bracket shell, compared to a traditional alloy bike where the two components are welded. This way, the Chisel saves even more material and weight.
