Description
The Chisel is the lightest dual-suspension alloy bike in the world. It's 18.4% lighter than comparable models in its category and thanks to the kinematics and geometry of its bigger sibling Epic 8, the Chisel delivers outstanding performance on every ride. SPEED METAL: Thanks to D'Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel boasts the lightest XC aluminum frame in its class. Every tube of the frame is highly manipulated and features differentiated thicknesses and profiles that deliver stiffness where it counts – for efficiency, vibration damping, comfort and optimal control. CAPABILITY: with 110mm travel suspension tuned with Ride Dynamics, the Chisel's performance pedigree traces directly back to Epic 8, our World Cup racing machine. The advanced suspension kinematics DNA of the Epic 8, Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension and progressive geometry refined on World Cup technical terrain can all be found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling diverse terrain with confidence and speed. EFFICIENCY: The Chisel is the most efficient bike in its category, thanks to the geometry and kinematics developed for Epic 8. The advanced seat tube positions the rider in optimal pedaling position. Optimized anti-squat reduces pedal-bob. Put it all together and you'll understand how the Chisel translates every watt at the pedals into maximum forward momentum. SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We designed the Flex Stay stays so suspension sits at the top of the class, while eliminating the extra weight and maintenance of the pivot points used by traditional designs. Extensive field and lab testing proved the Chisel achieved the impossible: the efficiency, control and lightweight design of Flex Stay – common on carbon bikes – with advanced alloy. HYDROFORMED ALLOY: The seat tube hydroformed in a single piece includes the bearing seat and bottom bracket shell, versus a traditional alloy bike where the two components are welded. So the Chisel shaves even more material and weight.
